This on-line Privacy Policy is provided to make you aware of how we collect, use and manage information of visitors to our Internet Web Site (IWS). The Publisher and its related entities view the personal privacy of users as an important issue, and we are committed to maintaining the security of personal information provided to us by users in accessing our IWS. This policy forms part of the Terms of Service of the IWS, and describes how we treat personal information that we receive through your use of our IWS.

 

Definitions

The Trustees of the Daughters of St Paul (trading as Pauline Electronic Publishing) ABN 23 370 778 012 ("the Publisher") is a member of the Catholic Church Religious Group.

'The Publisher', "we" "us" and "our" means the Publisher and all of its related bodies corporate. A related body corporate means a related body corporate as defined in the Corporations Law of Australia.

"IWS" refers to the Internet Web Site Terra Spiritus.

"User/s", "you" and "your" refers to users of, and subscribers to the IWS.

'Hyperlink' means any mechanism of providing a link from one location on the Internet (or a web page) to another location on the Internet (or a different web page, or a different location on the same web page), and includes any mechanism for linking to, or providing access to, files via the Internet.

'Intellectual Property' means all intellectual property rights as defined by Article 2 of the World Intellectual Property Organisation Convention of 1967, in any inventions, designs, trademarks, trade names, circuit layouts, plant varieties, business and domain names, logos and get-up, confidential information, matter, materials or works accessible on or via the Publisher web sites.

"Internet Services" means the supply of Goods and Services by the Publisher including without limitation access to the Publishers website at www.terraspiritus.com.au and to anything on the Publishers website including without limitation the Publisher's "Terra Spiritus" internet magazine.

 

What Information Do We Collect and How Is It Used?

We collect the following information from visitors to our IWS: domain name, IP address, information regarding what pages are accessed, information volunteered by you, such as survey information, e-mail address, and your preferred means of communication. We collect and log this information for statistical purposes.

We will also collect additional information in relation to subscribers as set out under the heading "Information collected during Subscription", and that additional information will be used by us for accounting and subscriber database management purposes and such information will be provided as necessary to financial institutions. We may also use this information in order to provide you with a personalised experience when you visit our IWS. Through the use of a "cookie" (see under "Cookies"), we can record the pages you visit and the information you require. Through analysis of these records, we can take steps to provide you with an improved service when you revisit our IWS.

Other than as stated in the preceding paragraphs, no attempt is made to identify users or their browsing activities except, in the event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect logs, or where we believe it is required to collect and produce relevant electronic documentation to use and disclose your personal information to fulfil its obligations to any third parties, including statutory organisations under local law and regulatory bodies.

We will only use and disclose your personal information if necessary to protect any copyright or intellectual property in any material on our IWS, or if it is necessary to enforce our IWS Terms of Service.

We may use third-party advertisers to deliver advertisements to your web browser whilst you are viewing our IWS. We accept no responsibility for any information collected by third-party advertisers once you click on an advertisement and leave our IWS.

Except as specifically stated in this Privacy Policy, we will not share your personally identifiable information with any individual or organisation that is not associated with the Publisher.

Information collected during Subscription

In the process of subscription by organisations or individuals, the following information will be required and used by us:

  • e-mail address;
  • name;
  • organisation name;
  • administrator name, contact phone number and email;
  • address, telephone number and fax number;
  • payment details, such as credit card or bank account details

Subscription will enable you to access our online magazine "Terra Spiritus"; five issues of which will be placed on our IWS www.terraspiritus.com.au each year, subscription will also enable us to notify you of new issue releases by email and allow you to receive other relevant communications.

Whilst we may use your subscription details for demographic analysis and to personalise your web experience, we will not make membership details available to external parties except as indicated in this Privacy Policy.

 

Cookies

A cookie is a small data file that web sites may write to your hard drive when you visit them. A cookie file can contain information, such as a userID, that the web site uses to track the pages you have visited. The only personal information a cookie can contain is information you personally supply. A cookie cannot read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other web sites.

Our IWS uses cookies to track user traffic patterns and to better serve you when you revisit our web site.
